Why I can't reply or forward emails inside the Sales Hub yet

If you're connected to your mailbox and you've found that you can compose a brand-new email from the Sales Hub but can't hit Reply or Forward on an email that landed on a contact's timeline, that's not a bug on your end. We genuinely haven't shipped Reply / Reply-all / Forward yet from inside the composer.

What you can do today

• Compose a brand-new email to any contact. Goes through your mailbox, lands on the timeline.
• See incoming replies from your customer. They land on the contact's timeline within 5 minutes of arriving in your real inbox.
• Reply or forward in your normal email app. Open Gmail or Outlook, hit Reply, send. Your reply is automatically captured into the Sales Hub timeline next sync (within 5 minutes).

What's coming

Reply, Reply-all, and Forward from inside the Sales Hub composer are on the roadmap. The plumbing is mostly there — every email we capture stores the message ID needed to thread a reply, and the composer already has the “in reply to” field internally. We've just held off on the user-facing button until we can do it well across both Gmail and Outlook.

What we won't do

• We won't fake a “reply” by composing a new email with “Re:” in the subject. That breaks threading on your customer's end and would feel wrong.
• We won't make you copy / paste between tabs. The whole point is fewer steps, not more.

Until reply ships, the rule of thumb is: compose new emails in the Sales Hub, reply / forward in Gmail or Outlook. Both end up on the timeline either way.
