A company is a customer organisation in your CRM. The detail page collects everything about that account — the people you talk to inside it, every deal you've ever chased with them, and (if they're on the CrewFinder directory) a link out to their public profile.
How the page is laid out
- Left rail — company info. Name, website, phone, address, city, region, sectors, custom fields. Click any value to edit.
- Middle — activity feed. Notes, calls, meetings, tasks, files logged at the company level. Use this for things that span the relationship — “annual review with their VP”, “added to approved-vendor list”.
- Right rail — associations. Contacts inside this company, every deal you have or have ever had, and the change history.
Linked vs. unlinked companies
If your customer is on the public CrewFinder directory, you can link their CRM record to the directory listing. Linking pre-fills website, address, sectors, and adds a “View public profile” link in the right rail. The link is one-way — editing the CRM company never edits the public profile.
Unlinked companies are perfectly fine — most customers aren't on the directory yet. You can always link later: edit the company name, the picker shows directory matches, choose one to link.
How it relates to contacts and deals
- One company, many contacts. The right rail lists every contact whose employer is this company. Click a contact to jump to their detail page.
- One company, many deals. Right rail lists open and closed deals tagged to this company. Win-rate and total revenue across deals show inline.
- Activity rolls up. When you log a note on a contact whose company is this one, it shows on the company's timeline too — useful when a teammate is the one talking to the procurement lead and you only know the company.
Deleting a company
From the company detail page, Delete is in the ⋯ menu. Soft delete; recoverable for 90 days. Linked contacts and deals are not deleted — they're just unlinked from this company. Most teams archive instead by removing the company from active deals; you almost never want to bulk-delete a company in a CRM.
Custom fields go on the left rail
Industry, account-tier, vendor-status, AFE prefix — add a custom field on the company entity in Settings → Custom fields. Filterable on the company list view. See Custom fields.
